Consultant Use of Questions and Its Relationship to Consultee Evaluation of Effectiveness.
Hughes, Jan N.; Erchul, William P.; Yoon, Jina; Jackson, Tammy; Henington, Carlen
Journal of School Psychology, v35 n3 p281-97 Fall 1997
Audiotaped, transcribed, and coded initial problem identification interviews of 41 consultant-consultee dyads. Hypothesized that open-ended questions, inference questions, and accepted questions were positively related to consultees' evaluation of consultant effectiveness. Results suggest that asking inference questions and questions accepted by consultees are associated with more positive consultee evaluations. (RJM)
