Teacher Ethnotheories and Child Temperament: Impact on Classroom Interactions.
Kean, June
Australian Journal of Early Childhood, v22 n3 p13-18 Sep 1997
Examined effects of eight teachers' ethno-theories (beliefs and values) on interactions with their students, with two broad groupings of child temperament: difficult and easy. Found that children classified as difficult by teachers consistently gave and received from teachers more negative-valence in emotional and social behaviors than easy temperament children; easy children gave and received more positive-valence.
