Explicitly Questioning the Nature of Suggestibility in Preschoolers' Memory and Retention.
Newcombe, Peter A.; Siegal, Michael
Journal of Experimental Child Psychology, v67 n2 p185-203 Nov 1997
Investigated preschoolers' suggestible responses on memory tests. Found that exposure to misleading information produced significantly less accurate responses under nonexplicit questioning in recognizing the original from the misleading information than consistent information exposure. Explicit questioning produced more accuracy at seven weeks than nonexplicit when the choice was between original and new items following delayed exposure to misleading information. (Author)
