The Impact of Presence Versus Absence of Negative Consequences in Dramatic Portrayals of Alcohol Drinking.
Bahk, C. Mo.
Journal of Alcohol and Drug Education, v42 n3 p18-26 Spr 1997
Using dramatic media presentations, explores issues surrounding the absence of negative consequences in alcohol consumption. Results based on 211 participants indicate that exposure to portrayals of alcohol drinking with negative consequences elicits the least favorable attitudes toward drinking. Exposure to the same presentation, without the negative consequences, leads to favorable attitudes. (RJM)
