Responses from 315 of 639 older adults participating in an Institute for Learning in Retirement, featuring peer-led study groups, indicated the following: most enjoyed learning with peers; success depended on the quality of peer moderator contributions; moderators' roles differ by personality, experience, and study area; and the Internet has the potential to expand participation of those with limited mobility.
