Teachers' Views of Issues Involving Students' Mental Health.

Examined elementary teachers' views regarding students' mental health needs. Found that almost all believed that addressing these needs was part of their role but also felt somewhat burdened by this responsibility. Sense of efficacy and reported use of task-focused instruction were negatively associated with feelings of burden. Teachers were good informants regarding which students would benefit from mental health services. (Author/KB)
