More Evidence for the Implementation of Middle Level Practices.
Seghers, Myles M.; Meza, James, Jr.; Kirby, Peggy C.
NASSP Bulletin, v81 n591 p98-107 Oct 1997
Assessed the implementation level of Carnegie recommendations for middle schools in Louisiana and investigated whether implementing these recommendations was related to desirable student and school outcomes, using the Middle School Practices Questionnaire. Implementation results were not promising. However, implementing recommended middle-level practices seems positively related to academic achievement and negatively related to suspensions, expulsions, and teacher turnover.
