Identity Development, Career Development, and Psychological Separation from Parents: Similarities and Differences between Men and Women.

Examines how career development and psychological separation from parents relates to identity development. Career development variables predicted degree of identity exploration and identity commitment for both men and women. Women scored lower on functional and emotional independence, suggesting that they viewed themselves as being less self-efficacious than men. (RJM)
