Using Experiential Learning to Teach Evaluation Skills.

Of 98 8-18 year olds, 47 were taught livestock evaluation skills (conformance and performance) using live horses and 51 using video simulation. There were no significant differences related to teaching technique. Older students (12-18) learned conformance judging skills more quickly than younger ones. Audiovisual aids were considered effective for teaching livestock evaluation. (SK)
