This study investigated the impact of Montana's initiative to combine health and physical education into one secondary course, noting instructors' preparation to teach health education. Surveys of secondary teachers in Montana's Health Enhancement curriculum (which combined health and physical education outcomes) revealed minimal support for Health Enhancement in theory or practice.
