Good Teaching for One and All: Does Gifted Education Have an Instructional Identity?
Tomlinson, Carol Ann
Journal for the Education of the Gifted, v20 n2 p155-74 Win 1996
This essay proposes a model for providing alternative instruction to gifted learners, emphasizing development of independent, creative, abstract, complex, and transformational thinking skills. Essential commonalities and differences between good instruction in general and good instruction for the gifted are discussed, as are the model's implications for providing advanced instruction in heterogenous settings.
