Predicting 21st Century School Enrollments: Assumptions, Tools and Tips.
Dembowski, Frederick L.; Van Hoesen, Steven
School Business Affairs, v63 n4 p19-23 Apr 1997
Enrollment forecasting is based on six basic environmental assumptions: fertility and birth rates, infant mortality rates, economic conditions, organizational structure and boundaries, organizational and administrative policy, and natural disasters and climatic conditions. The most common mathematical forecasting methods include cohort-survival and regression-based approaches. Accuracy is enhanced by using multiple methods. (MLH)
