Developmentally Appropriate Interpretation with Preschool Children.
Wilson, Ruth A.
Legacy, v7 n1 p31-33 Jan-Feb 1996
Because of the way young children learn, environmental educational programs should incorporate opportunities for sensory absorption and physical manipulation. Emphasis should be on stimulating children's senses and bringing joy to their actions, thoughts and feelings. Key concepts related to developmentally appropriate practices include active learning opportunities, direct experiences, and child-initiated explorations. Tables give examples of appropriate learning activities. (PVD)
