Slouching toward Scholardom: The Endangered American College.
Ziolkowski, Eric J.
College English, v58 n5 p568-88 Sep 1996
Argues that the scholar-teacher, in the true sense of someone who works not only to diffuse knowledge through teaching but to advance knowledge through scholarship, is slowly but surely becoming an endangered species at American colleges. Suggests this trend is to due the tendency to see scholarship and teaching as unrelated. (TB)
