Is a Ph.D. in Chemistry Worth the Effort?--Revisited.
Dietz, Mark L.
Journal of Chemical Education, v72 n1 p41-42 Jan 1995
Explores whether graduate study in chemistry is more worth the effort than other alternatives. Results indicate that, although the pursuit of a Ph.D. may look financially attractive when the only alternative is to cease one's formal education with the B.S. degree, its attractiveness is diminished when it is viewed in the context of other options for further education.
