Gender Differences in Wechsler Performance Scores of School-Age Children Who Are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.

Comparison of intelligence and achievement test scores of male and female deaf and hard-of-hearing school-age children found that boys scored almost a full standard deviation higher than girls on performance subtests of both the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children III and Revised scales. There were no mean differences between boys and girls on the achievement scores. (DB)
