Investigates the influence of behavioral objectives, ability, and gender on Nigerian students' (N=730) cognitive achievement in biology. Different treatment groups with objectives placed before or at the end of text materials, or objectives interspersed before or after paragraphs were used. Results indicate that the treatment groups performed significantly better than the control groups. Contains 37 references. (Author/JRH)
