Prereferral Intervention and Students At-Risk for Emotional or Behavioral Disorders.

Analysis of referrals of 204 children (grades K-5) to student study teams for prereferral services in an urban school district over 1 year found that referred students exhibited a mix of academic and behavioral problems. Teacher interventions typically "matched" the referring problem. Students with academic problems were more likely to be referred than students with behavioral problems. (Author/DB)
