How Do We Teach What Is Right? Research and Issues in Ethical and Moral Development.
Perry, Constance M.
Journal for a Just and Caring Education, v2 n4 p400-10 Oct 1996
Enhances understanding of values-education issues by addressing research on moral and ethical development. Presents Damon's tripartite distinction among moral reflection, moral emotion, and moral conduct--head, heart, and habit--to show moral development's complexity. Although promoting prosocial behavior is parents' responsibility, literature is useful for exploring ethical values from multiple perspectives. (37 references) (MLH)
