Rahm, Dianne
Industry and Higher Education, v10 n4 p207-18 Aug 1996
Interviews with 22 industry managers and scientists delineated 4 types of business relationships with universities: (1) small companies with close personal ties but insufficient capital; (2) small-medium firms often using state grants but concerned with intellectual property rights; (3) medium-large firms facing internal obstacles to collaboration; and (4) medium-large firms with substantial research and development but coping with downsizing.
