Wall Street Is Watching: Enrollment, Retention and Tuition Aren't Just an Academic Concern.
Lawson, James C.
Black Issues in Higher Education, v13 n9 p18-21 Jun 27 1996
College bond ratings are seen as important indicators of an institution's financial strength. Higher education bonds are traditionally considered relatively safe investments, but financial experts are beginning to monitor more closely college and universities' own portfolio investments, endowments, admission criteria, matriculation rates, academic program reputations, and institutional changes. Colleges are increasingly eager to earn and preserve good ratings. (MSE)
