"I'm Catalan but I'm Not a Fanatic": Shifting Tides in Catalan Public Opinion.
O'Donnell, Paul E.
Language Problems and Language Planning, v20 n1 p44-52 Spr 1996

This article attempts to explain how conflicts in Europe, national and Catalan election politics, educational policies, and the "cold war" waged against the Catalan government together affected a change in public opinion toward a reluctance to call oneself "Catalan."
