School Factors and Delinquency: A Study of African American Youths.
Joseph, Janice
Journal of Black Studies, v26 n3 p340-55 Jan 1996
Examines the relationship between school variables such as school experiences, attitudes about school, academic achievement, relevance of the curriculum, and school involvement and the delinquency of black youths, along with the influence of gender and type of school. Findings from 272 adolescents show that school variables were strongly related to delinquency. Implications for policy development are addressed. (GR)
