Regional Differences in Spanking Experiences and Attitudes: A Comparison of Northeastern and Southern College Students.
Flynn, Clifton P.
Journal of Family Violence, v11 n1 p59-80 Mar 1996
Examines regional differences in college student experiences with corporal punishment as children. Students from a northeastern and a southern university were surveyed. Results indicated that students attending the northeastern university were less likely to have been spanked as children. Effect of region was more important for attitudes than behaviors. Discusses implications of findings for parents, children, and family professionals. (MOK)
