"GOTCHA!" Twenty-Five Behavior Traps Guaranteed to Extend Your Students' Academic and Social Skills.
Alber, Sheila R.; Heward, William L.
Intervention in School and Clinic, v31 n5 p285-89 May 1996
The principle of "behavior traps" to change student behavior is explained, and examples of 25 such "traps" are suggested. The "traps" lure the child into a "success circle" of increasing positive knowledge and skills. Examples include incorporating student interests in heroes, special interests, and clubs into curricular activities; utilizing school/community resources; and turning around annoying classroom behaviors.
