Reasons for School Suspensions.
Dupper, David R.; Bosch, Lois A.
Journal for a Just and Caring Education, v2 n2 p140-50 Apr 1996
Students repeatedly suspended from school suffer academically and are more likely to be retained or to drop out. A recent study examined reasons for student suspensions from one school district over an eight-year period. Most suspensions resulted from physical confrontations with peers and other preventable behavior problems. Alternative measures should be used in these two offense categories. (17 references) (MLH)
