A study exploring the relationship between scholarly productivity, in terms of publication and citation rates, and institutional reputation among leading social work schools is reported. Records for 333 faculty from 13 schools were analyzed in relation to 7 hypotheses of publication/citation rate and institutional productivity; results are compared with previous studies. An index reflecting "critical mass of scholarly activity" is proposed. (Author/MSE)
