The impact on legal education of events and developments in 1995 relating to the accreditation of law schools is examined. Recent developments in the American Bar Association's accreditation process and membership are discussed, and three objectives of accreditation (promoting lawyer competence, protecting student consumers, and fostering institutional excellence) are explored.
