Psychological Importance of the "Big Five": Impression Formation and Context Effects.
Williams, John E.; And Others
Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, v21 n8 p818-26 Aug 1995
Personality's basic dimensions are: extraversion, agreeableness, emotional stability; conscientiousness, and openness. Rated items of Adjective Check List for psychological importance, then rated hypothetical applicants described with different combinations of personality dimensions. Applicants described with extraversion and agreeableness adjectives were viewed less positively possibly due to context of work rather than personal relationship. (JBJ)
