Using Growth Curve Analysis to Evaluate Child Change in Longitudinal Investigations.
Burchinal, Margaret R.; And Others
Journal of Early Intervention, v18 n4 p403-23 Fall 1994
This paper reviews analytic methods for estimating growth curves or developmental trajectories from longitudinal data. Traditional models for studying change are contrasted with a relatively new method, hierarchical linear models. Evidence is presented indicating that hierarchical linear models can overcome some of the methodological limitations of other analytic techniques used to evaluate early intervention effectiveness.
