Parental Involvement in the Developmental Screening of Their Young Children: A Multiple-Source Perspective.
Henderson, Laura W.; Meisels, Samuel J.
Journal of Early Intervention, v18 n2 p141-54 Spr 1994
Results from a standardized parent questionnaire were combined with results of an individually administered developmental screening instrument (the Early Screening Inventory) to predict more accurately which young children (n=1,296) will be at risk for school failure. Results showed the combined approach led to fewer misclassifications, thus increasing the predictive accuracy of the developmental screening process. (Author/JDD)
