Abuse and Disabuse of the Drug Metaphor in Psychotherapy Research: Hold on to the Baby as You Throw out the Bath.
Silberschatz, George
Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, v62 n5 p949-51 Oct 1994
Responds to previous article (Stiles and Shapiro, this issue) which argues that trivial correlations between process variables and treatment outcome point to inherent methodological limitations of correlational designs in process-outcome research. Contends that correlational designs are perfectly appropriate for testing process-outcome correlations if process measures are adequately conceptualized. (Author/NB)
