English for specific purposes programs can provide a useful bridge between language and content classrooms by integrating the use of periodicals--commonly read by native speakers in the fields of business and management--into curricula. Reading materials from these periodicals expose students to relevant content and vocabulary as well as provide them with practice in a variety of reading skills and strategies.
