Supervising Teachers and Student Teachers: Roles and Relationships in Primary Initial Teacher Education.

Student teachers from the University of Strathclyde, supervising teachers, and university tutors completed questionnaires on various aspects of the school-experience placement. Most student teachers reported a more than satisfactory learning experience, although they tended to adopt the apprentice role. Classroom supervisors were often unsure of their responsibilities and unwilling to take on greater responsibility. (KS)
