Comparing Business Instructors' and Students' Views on Administrative Support Occupations.

A survey of 562 Illinois secondary students and 45 business teachers found limited acceptance by students (especially males) of administrative support occupations. Teachers had misconceptions of students' attitudes toward these occupations. Influential factors were stereotypes, perceptions of low pay, and the attitude that computer use was a male job. (SK)
