The educational administration profession can no longer tolerate the certification of future school leaders who use a "cookbook" approach to problem solving. The issue of critical analysis and the ability to apply such skills to school settings is the essence of improving administrative leadership and student academic performance. Unless preparation programs adopt a learning-based curriculum, the principalship is doomed. (MLH)
