Examines some psychosocial forces that may contribute to the black male's overrepresentation in the criminal justice system. Provides synthesis of selected research and theoretical topics; addresses socioeconomic considerations, achievement, childhood patterns, and coping styles; and suggests that many of these factors are connected and interdependent.
