Peer Mediation in the Schools: Teaching Conflict Resolution Techniques to Students.
Morse, Philip S.; Andrea, Ron
NASSP Bulletin, v78 n560 p75-82 Mar 1994
In peer mediation, students can resolve conflicts and orchestrate their own solutions. According to the National Association for Mediation in Education, school-based mediation teaches students how to deal with anger constructively, communicate feelings without using violence and abusive language, think creatively about alternative solutions, and agree to win-win solutions. An upstate New York training program is described. (MLH)
