A major consequence of the British further education system's increasing business orientation has been the introduction of human resource management strategies. Further education has always been closely tied to business and industry's needs. Although HRM strategies help college managers meet the system demands of incorporation, they also marginalize educational values at both strategic and operational levels. (Contains 14 references.)
