Examined perceptions of university classroom learning experiences held by 10 U.S. and 7 international female students. Findings revealed four themes: professors' attitudes/actions set climate for learning; student actions were important in creating positive learning experience; women's rich background of experiences influenced quality of learning encounter; and information about women's lives and achievements was vital to learning.
