The Effects of Role Strain on Single, Working, Black Mothers' Perceptions of Their Young Children.
Jackson, Aurora P.
Social Work Research, v18 n1 p36-40 Mar 1994
Examined data from 111 single, black, employed mothers concerning their perceptions of their 3- and 4-year-old children. Results revealed that mothers with some postsecondary education/training maintained more positive views of their children, regardless of child gender. Boys were perceived more negatively than girls by mothers who were high in role strain and who had no postsecondary education. (Author/NB)
