Cognitive-Behavioral Intervention Increases Abstinence Rates for Depressive-History Smokers.
Hall, Sharon M.; And Others
Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, v62 n1 p141-46 Feb 1994
Tested hypothesis that cognitive-behavioral mood management intervention would be effective for smokers with history of major depressive disorder (MDD). Findings from 149 smokers, 31% of whom had history of MDD, revealed that history-positive subjects were more likely to be abstinent when treated with mood management; treatment condition differences were not significant for history-negative subjects.
