Selected Characteristics of High-Risk Students and Their Enrollment Persistence.
Ryland, Elizabeth B.; And Others
Journal of College Student Development, v35 n1 p54-58 Jan 1994
Examined factors affecting persistence/attrition of college students (n=301) at high risk for dropping out who were enrolled in personal and academic development seminars. Findings revealed that student demographic and retention characteristics, rather than stress coping resources, appeared to be most useful in predicting attrition. Findings suggest that academic self-confidence of nonpersisters could be low. (Author/NB)
