The Need for Child Representation Reform: Policy Issues and New Roles for Family Specialists.
Dziuba-Leatherman, Jennifer; Dolan, Elizabeth M.
Family Relations, v43 n1 p81-85 Jan 1994
Victims of child abuse and neglect and children of divorce need independent representation in court. States are required to provide representatives for all eligible children. Literature review identified three major barriers to effective representation: lack of qualified personnel, insufficient funding, and time and compensation constraints. Considers possible solutions and identifies ways for family specialists to become involved. (Author/NB)
