Involving Students in Total Quality Education: Models for Urban and Rural Communities.
Goldman, Gary; Newman, Jay B.
ERS Spectrum, v11 n4 p32-40 Fall 1993
Involving adolescents in school-improvement activities is essential for a total quality school but can create discomfort for teachers inured to traditional class-control mechanisms. This article profiles two initiatives to encourage student involvement through the Quality Student Leadership process in Chicago area schools and in rural Michigan. Continuous improvement strategies can be applied in any educational setting. (Contains 10 references.) (MLH)
