An Empirical Examination of the Work Ideologies of Juvenile and Adult Probation Officers.
Sluder, Richard D.; Reddington, Frances P.
Journal of Offender Rehabilitation, v20 n1-2 p115-37 1993
Collected data from 206 probation officers to examine work ideologies of juvenile versus adult probation officers. Findings revealed that juvenile and adult probation officers differed in their opinions about the best method of managing offenders under correctional supervision, with juvenile workers expressing more support for casework-type offender management strategies. Sex differences also were found. (NB)
