Exploring the Potential Motivational Properties of Curriculum-Based Measurement in Reading among Middle School Students with Learning Disabilities.
Glor-Scheib, Susan; Zigmond, Naomi
Learning Disabilities: A Multidisciplinary Journal, v4 n2 p35-43 Aug 1993
Sixth-grade students (n=22) with learning disabilities were administered a curriculum-based reading measurement over 18 weeks and attitudinal and self-perception measures as pretests and posttests. Students' self-perceptions of reading competence improved. Attitudes toward oral reading, while not improving, were positively related to fluency. Students rated reading comprehension as more important than reading fast. (Author/JDD)
