This article proposes a critical multicultural literacy, provided through a curriculum that affords students the opportunity to enter empathetically within cultural points of view disparate from their own. Three underlying tenets of a critical multicultural literacy are discussed: educational equity, prejudice reduction, and understanding the common struggle for human dignity. (JDD)
