Surveyed 88 colleges and universities considered very selective in their admission process concerning role of the college recommendation written by teachers or counselors. Found that teacher and counselor recommendations were important part of evaluation process for university admission to selective schools and that recommendations needed to be more honest and specific, focusing more on intellectual abilities and academic talents.
