Children in Homeless Families: Risks to Mental Health and Development.
Masten, Ann S.; And Others
Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, v61 n2 p335-43 Apr 1993
Examined psychological adjustment in 159 homeless and 62 low-income, at-home children. Homeless children had greater recent stress exposure, more disrupted schooling/friendships. Behavior problems were above norms for homeless children, particularly for antisocial behavior. Behavior problems in both samples were more related to parental distress, cumulative risk status, and recent adversity than to housing status or income. (Author/NB)
